Procedure B
SLIDE TYPE DOWN STOPSCAUTION: DURING THIS ADJUSTMENT, LOWER THE TOP ONLY WHEN PROCEDURES CALL FOR LOWERING.
MEASURE TOP STACK HEIGHT:
1. MEASURE TOP STACK HEIGHT Lower the convertible top after making sure that nothing is in the way. Measure the distance between the top surface of the quarter trim panel and lower edge of the center side rail. Note down measurements. If the measurements are within 35-45 mm with left to right side variance less than 5 mm, check for other problems. If it requires adjustment, proceed to Step 2.
See picture for Procedure A Step 2.
2. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL INSERTS
(a) Using your fingers, pry loose the trim panel. There are six clips holding the panel insert.
(b) Disconnect the wire connectors and remove the quarter trim insert panel.
ADJUST DOWN-STOPS:
PROCEDURE B
3. ADJUST DOWN-STOPS
(a) Lower the convertible top about 3/4 of the way down.
(b) Locate the two down-stop adjusting bolts behind the quarter trim panel and "B" pillar brace. See drawing.
(c) Loosen down-stop bolts and adjust down-stops to full up position.
(d) Tighten down-stop adjusting bolts.
ADJUST CONVERTIBLE TOP STACK HEIGHT:
4. ADJUST CONVERTIBLE TOP STACK HEIGHT
(a) Cycle the convertible top and lower it is as far down as it will go.
(b) Measure the distance between the top surface of the quarter trim panel and the lower edge of the center side rail.
Height: 35 mm - 45 mm Difference from right side to left side heights must not exceed 5 mm.
(c) If stack height exceeds 45 mm, raise the top slightly and adjust the down-stops downward.
PROCEDURE B
NOTE: FOR EVERY 1 MM DOWNWARD ADJUSTMENT OF THE DOWNSTOP, THE STACK HEIGHT WILL BE LOWERED BY 6 MM.
CAUTION: DO NOT LOWER STACK HEIGHT LESS THAN 35 MM OR POSSIBLE BREAKAGE TO THE BACKLITE MAY OCCUR.
5. CHECK BOOT INSTALLATION
(a) Install boot side panels to vehicle.
(b) Check to be sure the boot side panels lock properly in place and there is no interference between the boot and the top. If there is interference between the boot and the top and the boot doesn't fit, additional adjustments to downstops will be necessary.
6. INSTALL QUARTER TRIM PANEL INSERTS
(a) Connect the wire connectors.
(b) Install quarter trim panel inserts.
