Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Visually inspect wiring and electrical connectors. Ensure that wiring is not damaged and that connections are secure and free from corrosion.
2. Inspect fuel system for leaks and correct as needed.
3. Inspect vacuum hoses and emission control components. Repair or replace hoses that are cracked, loose or incorrectly routed. Refer to ``Vacuum Hose Routings and Engine Compartment Reference Diagrams.''
4. If further diagnosis is needed, refer to ``TROUBLESHOOTING USING CODES.''
