Computer and Sensors

PREPARATION

1. Unplug computer wiring connector (located behind right front kick panel).
2. Perform inspections on wire harness side of connector.

TESTING

Voltage Check:

1. Turn ignition "ON." Measure voltage between terminal 7 and ground with main switch "ON."
2. Meter should read battery voltage. If not, check main switch.

Parking Brake Switch Check:

3. Start engine. Measure voltage between terminal 12 and ground.
4. With parking brake lever pulled, meter should read 0V. With lever released, meter should read 10V - 14V.

Stop Fuse Check:

5. Turn ignition "OFF." Measure voltage between terminal 9 and ground.
6. Meter should read battery voltage. If there is no voltage, check stop fuse.

Stop Light Switch Check:

7. Measure voltage between terminal 8 and ground.
8. Meter should read battery voltage with brake pedal depressed, and 0V with pedal released.
9. If not, check stop light switch.

Clutch Or P/N Switch Check:

10. Check continuity between terminal 11 and ground.
12. There should be continuity with clutch pedal depressed or shift lever in "P" or "N."
13. If no continuity, check clutch switch or neutral start switch.

Actuator Check:

14. Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 2. With brake pedal depressed, it should be approximately 68 ohms. With pedal released, meter should read infinity.
15. Measure resistance between terminals 2 and 3. With brake pedal depressed, it should be approximately 30 ohms. With pedal released, meter should read infinity.

Switch "SET" Check:

16. Check continuity between terminal 4 and ground with control switch at "SET." Meter should show continuity.
17. If no continuity, check control switch.

Switch "RESUME" Check:

18. Check continuity between terminal 13 and ground with control switch set at "RESUME." Meter should show continuity.
19. If no continuity, check control switch.

Speed Sensor Check:

20. Check continuity between terminal 6 and ground when vehicle is pushed slowly forward. Ohmmeter should fluctuate between continuity and infinity.
21. If ohmmeter does not read as described, check speed sensor.
