Equipment Hookup & Adjustment Procedures

1982: With engine at operating temperature, choke fully open, and air cleaner installed adjust to specified rpm.

Fast idle adjustment:
1290cc disconnect and plug vacuum hoses for HIC, EGR, and choke opener. With cooling fan off, set fast idle to specified rpm.

1452cc, 1770cc, disconnect and plug vacuum hoses to HIC, choke opener, and choke breaker diaphragm.

2188cc (maximum speed adjustment), with engine running, depress accelerator pedal to floor and adjust speed to 4900 rpm.

2366cc, plug HAI system hose connections. Disconnect and plug vacuum hoses to choke opener, distributor vacuum advance, and sub-advance. Disconnect hose to EGR valve. U.S. engines with manual transmission, plug MC system hose connections.

4230cc, disconnect and plug distributor advance hoses and VCV system.
