Front Door Lock Removal and Installation

Front Door Lock Components:

Removal
1. Remove door inside handle bezel, door grip, window regulator handle, door mirror inner garnish, door trim and door sealing cover.

2. Remove front door rear sash screws (1).







3. After disconnecting each joint (2) of control rod (1), remove door inside handle and door latch assembly.







Installation
1. Install door latch assembly and inside handle.
2. Connect outside handle opening push rod (1) to joint of outside handle.
3. Check play of push rod by operating outside handle.
If play is not within specification, repair or replace defective part.

Push rod play
"a" : 0.1 - 1.5 mm (0.004 - 0.060 in.)

CAUTION: If play is out of specification, it can cause operational problem after use.

4. Connect other rod(s) to each joint (3) if disconnected.







5. After installing, confirm that door does not open when inside looking lever is at lock position and opens when it is at unlock position.
6. Install other removed parts by reversing removal procedure.
7. Install door latch striker (2) if removed.
Move door latch striker up and down so that its shaft (3) approximately aligns with the center of groove (A) of door latch (1).

NOTE: Striker should be placed level and moved vertically. Do not adjust door latch.







Move door latch striker (3) sideways to adjust to 0 mm (0 in.) the door (2) surface-to-body (1) surface difference with door closed.
