Interior - 2nd Row Seat Side Lever Installation

SUBJECT:
Slide Lock Lever for Second Row Seat

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform you that the slide lock lever for the second row seat is now available separately from the seat frame. If the slide lock lever needs to be replaced, follow the repair procedure.





PARTS INFORMATION

REPAIR PROCEDURE/INFORMATION





1) Move the seat to the most forward position. Using a plastic trim tool, remove the outer hinge cover (see Figure 1).





2) Place a shop rag on the floor to help catch the drill debris.

Caution:
Wear proper eye protection when drilling. Use a drill and a 3/16" drill bit to drill out the two rivets that secure the slide lock lever assembly to the seat frame (see Figure 2). After removing the rivets if there are any burrs, use a file to remove them. Vacuum remaining burrs and/or file shavings.





3) Detach the release cable from the slide lock lever (See Figure 3).





4) Attach the release cable to a new slide lock lever using original notch (see Figure 4).





5) Install new slide lock lever assembly using two, 3/16" rivets (see figure 5).

6) Reinstall the outer hinge cover.

For vehicles within the Basic New Car Limited Warranty period, this repair can be claimed using the table.
