Body - Noises From The Rear Gate When Driving

Noise from Rear Gate

INTRODUCTION

If you encounter a customer complaint that there is noise coming from the rear gate when going over bumps, it may be the result of the clearance between the rear gate and body. A modification has been made to the rear gate weather strip to eliminate the noise.





PARTS INFORMATION

A countermeasure in production was made in February, 2006 starting with VIN # 64429234.

REPAIR PROCEDURE/INFORMATION

Confirm the noise by having someone sit in the rear seat while you drive the vehicle. If the noise is present, refer to the applicable Subaru Service Manual located on the STIS (Subaru Technical Information System) web site for replacement procedure.
