Differential Side Retainer Oil Seal
INSPECTIONMake sure the gear oil dose not leak from differential side retainer oil seal part.
If oil leaks, replace the oil seal.
REPLACEMENT
1. Lift-up the vehicle.
2. Remove the front exhaust pipe and center exhaust pipe.
3. Remove the differential gear oil drain plug, and then drain the differential gear oil.
4. Replace the gasket with a new one, and then tighten the differential oil drain plug.
Tightening torque:
Copper gasket 70 Nm (7.2 kgf-m, 51.7 ft. lbs.)
Aluminum gasket 44 Nm (4.5 kgf-m, 32.5 ft. lbs.)
5. Separate the front drive shaft from transmission.
6. Using a vinyl tape, etc. wrapped flat tip screwdriver, remove the differential side retainer oil seal.
7. Using the ST, install the differential side retainer oil seal tapping ST lightly with a hammer.

8. Apply oil to the lip of oil seal.
9. Using the ST, Install the front drive shaft.

10. Install the front exhaust pipe and center exhaust pipe.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Fill the gear oil through gauge hole.
Recommend gear oil: GL-5 (SAE: 75 W-90) or equivalent
Gear oil capacity: 1.1 - 1.30 (1.3 - 1.4 US quarts, 1.0 - 1.1 Imp quarts)
13. Check the gear oil level.
