Boost Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The solenoid allows the pressure sensor to monitor both turbo boost pressure and atmospheric pressure.

LOCATION
On the front of the R.H. strut tower in the engine compartment.

OPERATION
A duty cycle signal is sent to the solenoid, switching it between atmospheric and manifold pressure sensing. Since the sensor is directly connected to the solenoid, it alternates between being an atmospheric and manifold pressure sensor.
