Disassembly

1. Remove throttle return spring, Fig. 3.
2. Remove idle up actuator on Justy Fig. 4.
3. Remove accelerator pump lever shaft screw, pump lever, washer and spring washer.
4. Separate accelerating pump connecting rod and pump lever.
5. Remove cam connecting rod, cotter pin and washer. Do not disturb accelerator pump connecting rod.
6. Disconnect vacuum hose from main vacuum diaphragm.
7. Detach choke chamber and gasket from float chamber. Use care not to damage float or duty solenoid valve. Remove piston return spring, ball and injector weight from choke chamber.
8. Remove anti-dieseling switch with plunger and spring.
9. Remove cotter pin on Hatchback models, snap ring on Justy, from secondary diaphragm, then the secondary diaphragm.
10. Disconnect secondary diaphragm rod from secondary throttle valve shaft.
11. Separate float chamber and throttle chamber, then remove gasket.
12. Remove accelerating pump piston and pump cover, then the float shaft and float with needle valve.
13. Disconnect duty solenoid valve lead wires, then remove duty solenoid valve.
14. Remove primary slow air bleed, then the secondary slow air bleed.
15. Remove switch vent solenoid valve and O-ring.
16. Remove primary main bleed, then the secondary main air bleed.
17. Remove primary plug and primary slow jet, then the secondary slow jet.
18. Remove lock plate, float chamber drain plugs and primary and secondary main jets.
19. Remove idle adjusting screw and spring. Remove idle adjusting screw by rotating its protector. If difficult to remove, bore a hole into plug with a suitable drill.
20. Remove nut and components from throttle valve shaft, then remove throttle adjusting screw and spring.



Cleaning & Inspection
Before inspecting for wear and damage, clean all components with clean gasoline. Use compressed air to clean passages, do not use drills or wires. Any components that show excessive wear or damage should be replaced.
