Component parts of the system are as follows:
ASV l with cut-off valve (AT and 4WD-AT models)
ASV lll without cut-off valve (MT and 4WD-MT models; two valves) (AT and 4WD-AT models; one valve)
Silencers
Air suction piping and hoses
Air filter
Solenoid valve l (AT and 4WD-AT models)
Check valve ll (AT and 4WD-AT models)
Revolution sensor (AT and 4WD-AT models)

Secondary air is supplied to exhaust ports on cylinders #1,3 and #2,4 by the ASV. AT and 4WD-AT models the ASV on cylinders 1,3 is equipped with a cutoff valve. The ASV with cutoff valve is controlled by the revolution sensor and solenoid valve l. Under wide open throttle, the check valve closes the vacuum circuit to hold vacuum and keep the cutoff valve open for that time period. If the engine rpm is below a specified level, solenoid valve l is opened by the revolution sensor and the cutoff valve is opened by intake vacuum engaging the ASV. When the engine speed is below the specified level, the ASV is inoperative.
