This system utilizes are full time Air Injection System with no thermoswitches or control solenoids. If tailpipe emissions are high or unusual exhaust noises are present and the ignition and fuel systems have been verified to operate normally, then the air injection system should be suspected. Check all hoses and piping as well as the ASV lll valve for reed valve malfunction. Remove the screws attaching the reed valve cover to the case. Inspect the assembly after cleaning with clean gasoline. Any cracks, dents, or warpage of the case, reed valve or reed stopper indicates replacement is necessary.
