Crankshaft Main Bearing

MAIN BEARING CAP





Install and uniformly tighten the 10 main bearing cap bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

Torque: 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)






Make the front of the bearing cap bolts with paint.
Further tighten the bearing cap bolts by 90° in the numerical order shown in the illustration.
Check that the paint mark is now at a 90° angle to the front.
Check that the crankshaft turns smoothly.
Check the crankshaft thrust clearance.

Maximum circle runout:
0.03 mm (0.0012 in.)

Standard diameter (Reference):





Standard main journal diameter:
54.988 to 55.000 mm (2.1649 to 2.1654 in.)

Maximum main journal taper and distortion:
0.003 mm (0.0001 in.)

Standard crank pin diameter:
47.990 to 48.000 mm (1.8894 to 1.8898 in.

Standard crank pin diameter:

Maximum crank pin taper and distortion:
0.003 mm (0.0001 in.)

CRANKSHAFT THRUST CLEARANCE

Standard thrust clearance:
0.04 to 0.24 mm (0.0016 to 0.0095 in.)

Maximum thrust clearance:
0.30 mm (0.0118 in.)

CRANKSHAFT OIL CLEARANCE

Standard oil clearance:
0.017 to 0.040 mm (0.0007 to 0.0016 in.)

Maximum oil clearance:
0.060 mm (0.0024 in.)



CRANKSHAFT BEARING CAP SET BOLT

Standard diameter:
7.3 to 7.5 mm (0.287 to 0.295 in.)

Minimum diameter:
7.2 mm (0.284 in.)
