Tank Integrity Diagnosis

Tank Integrity Diagnosis

It is possible to check the evaporative emission system for leaks with the tank integrity diagnosis. If there is a leak, it will not be possible to create or retain a vacuum in the system during the diagnosis.

The diagnosis logic has been improved to give a more reliable diagnosis. Two tests must have failed during the same driving cycle before a diagnostic trouble code is generated.

The diagnosis is performed once per trip and its objective is to determine whether a leak corresponding to a hole larger than 0.5mm (0.020 inch) in diameter is present in the evaporative emission system.
