Throttle Body: Service and Repair





To Remove
Unscrew the cap on the cooling system expansion tank to release the pressure in the system. Then screw the cap back on again.
1. Remove the intake manifold and resonating chamber.
2. Remove the four nuts retaining the throttle bodies.
3. Unplug the throttle position sensor's connector.
4. Disconnect the two coolant hoses from the throttle body.
5. Remove the throttle bodies.





To Fit

IMPORTANT:
Before fitting, inspect the sealing surfaces on the throttle bodies and the condition of the O-rings.
Lubricate the O-rings with a little petroleum jelly (Vaseline).

1. Fit the throttle bodies in place and tighten the retaining nuts.
Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ft lbs).
2. Plug in the throttle body connector and connect the hoses.
3. Refit the intake manifold and resonating chamber.
4. Fit the engine covers.
