Balance Shaft Bearing: Service and Repair

NOTE: This procedure is done with the engine disassembled.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the cover washer.
2. Insert the special tool from the flywheel end and install the reaction arm and nut.
3. Slowly and steadily tighten the nut to pull the bearing out of its recess.

INSTALLATION
1. Assemble the bearing shell on the tool.
2. Insert the tool from the flywheel end and install the reaction arm and nut.
3. Slowly and steadily tighten the nut to pull the bearing into its recess, until the mark on the tool is in line with the cover washer housing.
4. Disassemble and remove the special tool.
5. Install a new cover washer.
