COMMUNICATION FAULT WITH SENSONIC

Conditions

B1471 Generated in the event of incorrect data or no data from the Sensonic for more than 5 seconds.

B1473 Communication lead between the SID and Sensonic shorted to ground.

Fault Symptoms

Messages from the Sensonic not displayed on the SID.

Important: Diagnostic trouble code B1471 could be a consequential fault of B1473.

Diagnostic Procedure





1 Connect a ISAT Scan Tool.

- Select "SAAB INFO DISPLAY".

- Select "READ VALUES".

- Select "DATA FROM ACS".

2 Simulate a message.

- Engage a high gear, for example, and turn the ignition switch to the ON position. This should generate the "DISENGAGE GEAR" message on the SID and ISAT Scan Tool.

- If no message appears on either the SID or ISAT Scan Tool, see point 3.

- If the message does appear, the fault is intermittent. See point 4.

3 Wiring harness check.

- Check the wiring between pin 6 of the SID unit and pin 24 of the Sensonic control module for continuity and/or shorting to ground.

- If the wiring harness is intact, change the Sensonic control module.

4 Connector check.

- Check the connectors for slide-out and corrosion.
