Warning

Do not reuse a gear lever knob. It will not lock into place once it has been removed.

Replace the gear lever knob as follows:





1. Place the flanged driver and boot on the lever. Fit the steel spring under the gear lever knob. Fit the knob so that positions 2, 4 and R face in the same direction as the protruding pin at the bottom of the gear lever, Figure 9.





2. Mount the knob on the gear lever by tapping the top of it carefully with your hand (or a light rubber mallet), Figure 10.


NOTE

During installation of the flanged driver, make sure that the stop on the driver is no more than 1 mm above the detent on the gear lever housing.
