Changing the Gear Lever Knob





After the gear lever assembly has been removed from the car, proceed as follows:

1. Clamp the gear lever in a vice, Figure 5.





2. Wrap fabric tape around the flanged section of the driver immediately below the gear lever knob. This will prevent the flange from being damaged/scratched when the knob is removed, Figure 6.





3. Place a 33 mm wrench under the bottom of the gear lever knob. Using a rubber mallet, tap the wrench carefully upwards. Lift off the gear lever knob and flanged driver, Figure 7.





4. Remove the fabric tape. Using a small screwdriver, release the three small plastic hooks located inside the knob. This will release the knob from the flanged driver. Discard the old gear lever knob, Figure 8.
