Diagnostic procedure, LH 2.4.2

1 With the ignition switch in the Drive position, select command code 279 on the ISAT scan tool. The following throttle positions should be shown on the display:
- 80085 = about 85° (open, wide open throttle position)
- 80000 = about 0° (closed, idling speed). Alternatively, component testing can be carried out by means of the self-diagnostics function.

2 Unplug the position sensor connector, take a resistance reading across pins 1 and 3 of the position sensor connector.

The correct resistance is as follows:
- about 1.1 - 1.5 kohms (wide open throttle position)
- about 2.6 - 3.0 kohms (idling speed) If the resistance readings are not OK, change the position sensor.

3 With the ignition switch in the Drive position, take a voltage reading across pin 1 of the position sensor connector and ground. A reading of 5 V should be obtained.

4 With the ignition switched off, check that pin 2 of the position sensor connector is connected to a good ground.

If it is not, check the lead between pin 2 and ground.

5 Plug in the Breakout Box (LH control module not connected). Check the lead between pin 1 of the position sensor connector and pin 10 of the LH control module.

If the lead is Ok, go to point 7.

6 Check the lead between pin 3 of the position sensor connector and pin 2 of the control module.

7 Try fitting a new control module1.
