New Special Tools for M92 Models

Application:
1992 900 and 9000 Models

A Breakout Box (Pin Out Box) has been developed to facilitate troubleshooting for such new systems as Traction Control, TRW Airbag, M92 cruise control and the 55-pin ABS ECU on 9000 models. A connecting cable has also been developed for the DI/APC control unit.

These tools have been designated as required special tools for automatic shipment to all dealers in early October. Note that this tool distribution may be handled in more than one shipment. Refer to the packing list in each shipment for the correct contents. The regular one year parts and accessories warranty applies to these tools.

Breakout Box P/N 86 11 006

In addition to the connecting cables listed below, the Breakout Box is also compatible with the 25-Pin (LH 2.2, P/N 83 94 231) and 35-Pin (LH 2.4, P/N 83 94 348) adapter cables supplied with the LH Fuel Injection Tester. An overlay to alter the pin configurations for the 35-pin LH cable is supplied with the Breakout Box.





TC/ABS Cable (55 pin) P/N 86 11 030

Connects the Breakout Box to the TC/ABS and M92 9000 ABS control units.

TRW Airbag Cable (29 pin) P/N 86 11 113

Connects the Breakout Box to the M92 9000 Airbag ECU (not compatible with the Siemens Airbag ECU used on 1990- 900 models and 1989-91 9000 models).

ETS and DI/APC Cable (38 pin) P/N 86 11 014

Connects the Breakout Box to the ETS control unit (1992-) as well as DI/APC control units for 1992 and earlier model years.

Cruise Control (15 pin) P/N 86 11 121

Connects the Breakout Box to the new 15-pin cruise control ECU used on 1992 900 models and non-ETS 1992 9000 models.

Non-Required Special Tools

ASR Cable (25 pin) P/N 86 11 139

Connects the Breakout Box to the ASR control unit on 1992 9000 models with automatic transmission and TCS.
