Subject: False ISAT Error Code

For ACC Diagnostics

Application: Certain 9000 Models with ACC2


On early 1990 9000 Turbo models and early 1991 9000 Turbo models (see affected cars below), a false error code may occur causing the ACC temperature display to indicate "1" for a few seconds after starting the car. If an ISAT diagnosis of the ACC system indicates error code 33222 and the A/C compressor functions normally, this error code is false.

Use the procedure below to ensure this spurious error code does not occur again.


Parts Required:

Resistor P/N 85 48 034

Connector (qty 2) P/N 95 59 998

Connector (qty 2) P/N 95 60 004

Cable Tie Local supply


Resistor Installation Procedure

1. Remove the ACC control unit.

2. Fit resistor, 85 48 034 between lead 623 (black) from the 12-pin connector on the ACC control unit and lead 407 (yellow/white) from the 39-pin connector on the ACC control unit.

Lead 623 of the 12-pin connector is in pin position 12.

Lead 407 of the 39-pin connector is in pin position 31.

Use connectors as shown in Figure 1.

3. Secure the resistor to the connector with the cable tie.

4. Refit the ACC control unit.

For warranty claims, use Failure Code 37129-67-0-01-05. Labor time allowance is 0.2 hour, which should be entered as straight time.
