Adjustment of Fuel Consumption Display
1 First check that the EDU control module is programmed for the right engine variant. If it is not, press F1 (CHANGE) and change to the correct variant. Incorrect programming could give rise to display errors. Programming
2 If the EDU control module is programmed for the right engine variant, press F3 (CODE), enter the command BO1 and then 206.
3 The figure group displayed may consist of 9 or 6 digits. The 9-digit number always begins with 024y xxxx y, where 24 denotes LH2.4 and LH2.4.2 The 6-digit number always begins with 022 xxx for LH2.2 and TRIONIC.
4 The digits corresponding to the x's determine the fuel consumption display. An increase or decrease in these figures results in a corresponding increase or decrease in the fuel consumption display.
The following formulae are used for recalculating fuel consumption
A. Fuel consumption In L/100 km
New consumption = Old consumption * Actual consumption
Consumption displayed by EDU control module
The answer is rounded off to 4 digits.
Example: The car owner states that fuel consumption is 9.6 liters per 100 km but the EDU control module shows 11.2 liters/100 km. The figure group is 0240 1992 0 (see step 3 above). The new consumption figure will then be calculated using the above formula.
New consumption = 19 92 * 9.6 = 1707.4285
11.2
The new figure group will then be 0240 1707 0.
B. Fuel consumption In MPG
New consumption = Old consumption *Actual consumption*
Consumption displayed by EDU control module
The answer is rounded off to 4 digits.
Example: The car owner states that fuel consumption is 21 MPG but the EDU control module shows 19 MPG. The figure group is 0240 3000 0. The new consumption figure will then be calculated using the above formula.
New consumption = 30 00 * 19 = 2714.2857
21
The new figure group will then be 0240 2714 0.
*) Actual consumption is taken from fault diagnosis. Fault Symptom 3
5 Program the FDU with the new figure group by first entering 206 followed by 024017070 and then press ENTER.
6 Check that programming has been correctly performed by again pressing F1 (CHANGE) and then 206.
7 Check that the figure group (code) in the display is the same as that programmed.
If it is not, press F1 (CHANGE) and reprogram from point 5.
If the code is correct, press F2 (OK) and end in the usual way.
