Diagnostic procedure

1 Select command code 203 on the ISAT scan tool and check that the following is shown on the display:
- With the selector lever in D: 8B103 (activated)
- With the selector lever in P or N: 8B003 (not activated)
Alternatively, component testing can be carried out by means of self-diagnostics or an LH tester.

2 Check fuse 9.

3 Connect a Breakout Box to the car's wiring harness. LH control module not connected. With the selector lever in D, check that battery voltage is present on pin 30 of the LH control module (pin 4 for LH 2.2).

4 If it is not, check the lead between pin 30 of the LH control module (pin 4 for LH 2.2) and pin 4 of the selector lever switch.

Check that battery voltage is present on pin 3 of the selector lever switch.

If it is not, check the lead between the switch and the fuse and also the lead between the fuse and the +54 distribution terminal.

With the selector lever in D, check that battery voltage is present on pin 4 of the selector lever switch.

If it is not, but voltage is present on pin 3, change the selector lever switch.

5 If voltage is present, check the idle air control valve (in cases where a diagnostic trouble code is not generated), see page 175.

If the IAC valve is OK, change the control module.
