Diagnostic trouble codes 46391/26391
Intake air temperature sensor, open circuit or short circuit



Fault symptom

The car runs on basic boost pressure only.


Conditions

The signal from the temperature sensor is between 100 and 4900 mV.


Diagnostic procedure




1 Check the temperature sensor.

- Unplug the temperature sensor connector.

- Connect a test lamp to pin 2 and battery positive (B+).

The test lamp should light up.

Result OK?
YES Continue with point 2.
NO Repair or replace the lead in question and proceed to point 3.




2 Check the power supply

- Ignition switch in ON position.

- Select command code 220 with the ISAT scan tool.

- The scan tool display should show 80051 (5.1 V).

- Connect a jumper lead between pins 1 and 2 in the temperature sensor's connector.

- The scan tool display should show 80000 (0 V).

Result OK?
YES Change the temperature sensor, continue with point 3.
NO Repair or replace the lead in question and proceed to point 3.

3 Final check

- Clear the diagnostic trouble code.

- Implementation of driving cycle:
Drive the car at varying engine loads and rpm for 5 minutes.

- Evaluation of driving cycle:
Check whether the diagnostic trouble code recurs.

Does the diagnostic trouble code recur?
YES Continue with "Before Control Module Replacement". Service and Repair
NO The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.
