Diagnostic trouble codes 45260/25260
Throttle position signal incorrect or no signal (LH 2.4.2 or ETS)



Fault symptom

Engine runs on basic boost pressure only.


Conditions

The PWM signal from LH is incorrect, between 2 and 98 %.


Diagnostic procedure




1 Check the throttle position signal.

- Check whether a diagnostic trouble code for the throttle position sensor has been generated in LH or ETS.

Is there a diagnostic trouble code in LH or ETS?
YES Continue fault diagnosis in the system concerned. Then continue with point 3.
NO Continue with point 2.




2 Check the throttle position signal

- Unplug the control module.

- Ignition switch in the ON position.

- Connect a multimeter set for frequency measurement to pin 31 (red test lead) and battery negative (B-) (black test lead).

The frequency should be about 100 Hz.

Is the reading correct?
YES Continue with point 3.
NO Repair or replace the lead in question and proceed to point 3.

3 Final check

- Clear the diagnostic trouble code.

- Implementation of driving cycle:
Drive the car at varying engine loads and rpm for 5 minutes.

- Evaluation of driving cycle:
Check whether the diagnostic trouble code recurs.

Does the diagnostic trouble code recur?
YES Continue with "Before Control Module Replacement". Service and Repair
NO The steps taken to rectify the fault were correct.
