With Integrated Fault-Diagnosis System (Flash Codes): 12252

Diagnostic procedure

For fault diagnosis, see also "Checking the EVAP canister purge valve". Testing and Inspection

1 With the ignition switch in the Drive position, select command code 554 or carry out component testing with the self-diagnostics function. Listen for the sound of the EVAP canister purge valve working (1 Hz).

2 Check that battery voltage is present across pin 2 of the valve and a good ground.

If it is not, check the lead between pin 2 of the valve connector and pin 87B of the main relay with the ignition in the OFF position.

3 Take a reading of the valve's resistance across pins 1 and 2.

If correct, a reading of 40 60 ohms should be obtained.

If it is not, change the EVAP canister purge valve.

4 With the ignition switched off and the LH control module and valve connectors unplugged, check the lead between pin 1 of the valve connector and pin 27 of the control module connector.

5 Try fitting a new control module.
