Remedy 5

1. Remove mounting screws from front sensors and proceed as follows:
a. Using wire brush or blunt thread tap, clean threads of rivet nut and contact surfaces between sensor and bracket on body. Do not use chemicals of any kind.
b. Lubricate threads and receiving hole in rivet nut.
c. Lubricate threads of new mounting screw, then install front sensors.
d. Erase fault code and wait for at least 35 seconds with ignition switch On. If fault code persists, proceed to step 2.
2. Disconnect connector H4-10 (H4-11). Using an ohmmeter at connector H4-10 (H4-11), measure wiring resistance as follows:
a. On front sensor 1, measure between pin 2 and ground.
b. On front sensor 2, measure between pin 3 and ground.
c. If any resistance value is equal to or greater than 2.4 ohms, the fault could be in the wiring between connector H4-10 (H4-11) and H3-16 (H3-17) or in wiring between connector H3-16 (H3-17) and front sensor. Proceed to step 3.
d. If resistance value is less than 2.4 ohms, proceed to step 4.
3. Disconnect connector H3-16 (H3-17). Using ohmmeter at connector H3-16 (H3-17), measure wiring resistance to front sensor as follows:
a. Measure between pin 2 and ground.
b. If resistance value is equal to or greater than 2.4 ohms, the fault is in the front sensor. Install new sensor. If resistance is less than 2.4 ohms, the fault is in wiring between connectors H3-16 (H3-17) and H4-10 (H4-11).
4. The fault could be in the wiring between connector H4-10 (H4-11) and electronic unit.
