Striker Plate Assembly

Striker plate

To remove




1. Lower the top.




2. Remove the sun visor.




3. Remove the striker plate securing screws.




4. Pull out the fastener to release the top of the A-pillar seal.




5. Cut away the seal and remove the striker plate.


To fit




1. Remove all traces of old adhesive from the corner of the windscreen frame.




2. Remove all traces of old adhesive from the striker plate.




3. Put back the striker plate and secure by means of the retaining screws.




4. Fit the sun visor.




5. Apply contact adhesive to the A-pillar seal and push in the fastener.




6. Apply Sikaflex 255 (30 07 127) around the striker plate to seal it.




7. Use a spatula to remove surplus sealant.
