Subject: Saab-Alpine Alarm Installation Changes

Application: 1990 900 Models with ABS
For 1990, 900 models are equipped with ABS. The location of the ABS electronic control unit under the rear seat and the ABS fuse/relay panel in the right hand inner fender necessitates several changes to the Saab-Alpine Alarm installation instructions. When installing the Saab-Alpine Alarm Kit in a 900 equipped with ABS, the following steps must be added to the existing installation procedure:
2. For ABS cars, move the fuse/relay panel out of the way and remove the fuse/relay panel mounting bracket.


6. For ABS cars, reinstall the fuse/relay panel mounting bracket and the fuse/relay panel.



19. Note: On ABS cars, the ABS wiring harness should be routed beneath the alarm module (Figure 1). It may be necessary to cut the tie straps that secure the harness in order to gain the needed slack.



20 A. For ABS Cars, the starter interlock relay should be fastened to the center support as shown in Figure 2.
