Governor: Service and Repair

1. Remove lefthand front wheel and wing liner assembly.
2. Remove side cover attaching bolts, then the side cover and gasket.
3. Remove screw on pinion shaft. The parking pawl must be engaged.
4. Remove gearwheel with inner race of taper roller bearing from pinion shaft.
5. Remove outer race of taper bearing, heat may be required.
6. Remove governor and governor housing as an assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Apply petroleum jelly to seals before installing governor.
b. Tighten bolt on pinion shaft to specification.
c. Tighten side cover bolts to specification.
