Throttle Cable Repair Procedure
1. Lower the car. Release the kick-down cable from the throttle lever and bracket at the throttle valve housing.Figure 2.:
2. Disconnect the cable from the servo hose clip (Figure 2). Remove and discard any other existing clips or cable ties attached to the kick-down cable.
3. If the cable is to be replaced, remove and replace the cable according to Service Manual Section 4:2 Automatic Transmission, Page 472-7.
4. Lift the car. Route the cable down and under the transmission gear selector cable.

5. Remove the third bolt up from the drain plug at the joint between the main transmission case and the torque converter housing (Figure 3).
6. Install bracket 41 18 311 and replace the bolt. Tighten it to a torque of 23 +/- 3 N-m (17 + /- 2 ft. lbs.).
7. Fasten the throttle cable in the bracket and route the cable up to the throttle housing.

8. Lower the car. Reconnect the cable to the clip on the power steering servo hose (Figure 2).
9. Fasten the cable to the throttle lever. Adjust the cable as described in Service Manual Section 4:2, page 472-10.
