SUBJECT: CHECKING THE HYDRAULIC FLUID LEVEL AND CHANGE IN FLUID SPECIFICATION

APPLICATION: 900 CONVERTIBLE

Maintaining the correct level and type of hydraulic fluid is important for the proper operation of the convertible top hydraulic system. Use the following procedure to check the fluid level in the reservoir.

1. Remove the rear seat bottom cushion (See Service Manual Sec. 8:5, Convertible, p. 812-5).

2. Visually inspect the hydraulic fluid level as shown in Figure 1.
CAUTION!

Overfilling the reservoir will cause damage to the hydraulic unit requiring replacement of the unit.


3. Use only SAE 1OW engine oil for adding fluid to the system, or for changing the fluid.
