Door Window, Left Front - Does Not Operate Smoothly

SUBJECT: ADJUSTING THE LEFT FRONT DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR FOR SMOOTH OPERATION
APPLICATION: ALL 9000 MODELS, 1986-
If the electric window in the left front door of a 9000 model does not operate smoothly, use the following window regulator adjustment procedure to correct the window operation. This procedure makes the window glass tighter in the rear channel. Also use the procedure when installing new door window glass. This procedure does not apply to right side doors.

Adjusting the Front Door Window Regulator
1. Remove the inner door panel.
2. Move the plastic moisture barrier out of the way.
3. Open the window halfway.
4. Remove the bolt securing the window regulator assembly at the top (Figure 1).
5. Loosen the two bolts securing the glass to the window regulator assembly (Figure 1).

6. Push the glass towards the back of the door while at the same time pressing the top of the regulator assembly towards the front until it is approximately 3/8 in. past its securing hole (Figure 2) at the top.

7. While continuing to apply pressure to the regulator and glass, tighten the bolts securing the glass to the window regulator (Figure 1).
8. Slide the fop of the window regulator back into position and secure it with the bolt removed in step 4 (Figure 1).
9. Check the operation of the window.
10. Reinstall the plastic moisture barrier on the door.
11. Reinstall the inner door panel.
Warranty Information: For warranty claims, use Failure Code 83510-27-3/4- 01-05. The Labor Allowance is 0.5 hour which should be entered as straight time.
