Removal

To Remove
1 Disconnect the negative battery cable.


Important: Do not disconnect the battery cable while the engine is running as this could seriously damage the generator (alternator).


2 Jack up the car and remove the right-hand front wheel.
3 Remove the front section of the right-hand wing liner.
4 Slacken the belt and pry it off the generator pulley.
5 Disconnect the electrical connections at the rear of the generator.
6 Undo both generator retaining bolts.
7 Lever the generator to the left, using a screwdriver.
8 Pull the generator forward.

To Install
Install in reverse order.
Belt tension must be adjusted when the new generator has been installed.
