Windshield With & Without Straps Information
Windshield with straps:
With the securing belt in place, bend the metal straps up and against the "A" pillars. Mark the hole and drill with a right angle power drill.
Screw in and tighten the four sheet metal screws supplied with the windshield kit. Also supplied are four plastic hole inserts. These are only to be used with cars that were factory fitted with the strap.
The securing belt may be removed after two hours and the car moved around the shop. However, the car should still be kept indoors overnight before being delivered to the customer.
Windshield without straps:
Keep the belt in place and the car stationary - for at least two hours. The car may be moved around the shop after that time but the belt around the outside of the glass should be kept in place at least overnight. The car should be kept indoors in a warm place during this time.
8. Water test the car immediately. This accelerates the curing process of the adhesive.
Raise the edge of the moulding at the top and pour water over it.
Check for leaks inside the car.
Seal any leakage points from the inside of the car with the Saab adhesive.
When the job is complete refit all the hardware. Do not move the car for at least 2 hours. Ideally the car should sit overnight indoors to allow for proper curing (see step 7).
Note: Only a genuine Saab Adhesive Kit 30-07-952 may be used when installing windshields in the 9000 or 900 Convertible.
