Operational Check of Speedometer Gears On Replacement Gearbox


To check operation of speedometer gears before installation of a replacement gearbox:

1. Remove plastic transport cap from top of threaded guide sleeve.

2. Manually shift gearbox into "Neutral."

3. Grab hold of both stub axles firmly and turn them in the same direction to rotate the differential/ring gear housing.

4. Watch the center shaft of the speedometer gear. The shaft should rotate slowly as the differential is turned over. If not, proceed as follows.
