SUBJECT: NEW AC TIME DELAY RELAY ISSUE: 03/86-831

APPLICATION: 1986 9000 Turbo


A new time delay relay has been introduced into new car production which delays the engagement of the AC clutch for a few moments allowing the idle speed to be adjusted by the AIC system.

This running change is valid from VIN Serial No. G1001945.

This relay may also be fitted to earlier 9000 Turbos that exhibit momentary rough idling when the AC cycles on.



Installing the Relay:

1. Before installing a new relay in earlier cars, first check that the socket (Pos. E) is properly wired. The 2 wires shown below may have been mistakenly reversed.

544 RED/WHITE (0.75 sq. mm) should be connected to terminal 16.

122F YELLOW (0.5 sq. mm) should be connected to terminal 50.

2. Correct any wire locations as necessary and plug in the new relay.
Warranty Information: For warranty claims use Failure Code 36545-03-0-01-07. For Labor to install relay and check wire locations, enter 0.5 hour in straight time. Changing incorrect wire locations is an additional 0.3 hour (total allowance is 0.8 hour) Straight time.
