On the cars specified below, the main guide of the door hinge may be too far back. When this happens, the hinge mechanism will not hold the door in the open position and it will tend to swing shut too readily.

To repair it is necessary to fit a special washer beneath the hinge.


Washer P/N 69-38-708


Repair Instructions:

1. Mark the location of the upper hinge.

2. Loosen the upper hinge bolts.

Coat the washer (P/N 69-38-708) and the surface between the hinge with grease or an anticorrosion agent.

Fit the washer as shown in the drawing and tighten the hinge.

Check the door action.
