SUBJECT: ENGINE GROUND POINTS, LH-INJECTION ISSUE: 04/85-751 ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT



If the two engine ground points of the LH injection system at the lifting lug of the engine are insufficiently tightened, the fuel injection system may not perform in the intended manner. Malfunctions which may occur include poor driveability, starting difficulties, temperature sensitivity, etc.

In the event of complaints concerning early M85 Turbos, particularly with VIN Serial Nos. below F1006523, start by checking these ground points before carrying out any other work.


NOTE: The cables must not be moved from these ground point locations. Only check that the bolts are correctly tightened (7.4 ft.lbs.) and that they make good contact.
