SUBJECT: MODIFYING CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SOCKET ISSUE: 07/85-770 M84-, 900 Models



Saab 900 models from 1984 and up require a special socket (P/N 83-93-639) to remove and replace the crankshaft pulley bolt. If you have difficulty reaching the pulley bolt with this socket, it may be shortened as described below.

Shorten the socket with a bench grinder until a length of 2.0" (50.5 mm) is achieved. Wear proper eye protection.
