SUBJECT: SAAB-GUARD ALARM PAGER SYSTEMS ISSUE: 02/85-742 NEW RELAY AND WIRE CONNECTION

The Saab-Guard Alarm Pager System (P/N 02-10-567) is an optional accessory which may be added to a complete Saab-Guard alarm system installation. During production of the Pager System a new antenna actuator relay (P/N 02-11-318) was recently introduced which requires new wire connections during installation. The new relay is superseded from the old one and makes the pager compatible with all types of power antennas installed as original equipment by Saab.

The new relay may be identified by the 6 wire connections instead of the 3 connections of the old relay. The new relay (P/N 02-11-318) may be used as a replacement for the old relay (P/N 02-10-674) provided that the following connection procedures are followed.

Antenna Actuator Relay P/N 02-11-318

WIRE CONNECTIONS

BLACK - Connect to ground. Provides relay control circuit ground.

YELLOW - Connect to pager transmitter +trig terminal. Provides relay control circuit positive voltage when siren is sounding.

GREEN - Connect to antenna trigger (grn wire) coming from radio head. +12V when radio on.

WHITE - Connect to antenna trigger input (grn wire) to antenna relay. +12V out when siren is sounding or radio is on.

BLUE - Connect in series with constant +12V supply to antenna (red wire). This supplies the necessary battery voltage to operate the antenna relay. Feeds white wire +12V when 12 V at yellow wire has closed relay.
