To Remove the Gear Lever Housing With Ignition Switch

1. Disconnect the battery cables.
2. Remove the left-hand front seat.
3. Remove the center console. See "To remove the center console".
Fold back the carpet and remove the ventilation air duct.
4. Disconnect the cables from the ignition switch and reversing light switch.





5. Unhook the spring from the guide bracket (5-speed gearbox). Release the support bracket for the center console. Use special spanner 87 90 370 to remove the bolts for the gear lever housing.
6. Raise the gear lever housing and turn it so that the cover plate bolts can be removed from the underside of the gear lever housing, and remove the cover plate. (To remove the entire gear lever housing, remove the two screws securing the plastic bottom section, and then remove the gear lever housing.)





7. Remove the two ignition switch screws and remove the switch.
