To Adjust the Gear Lever Spring Load

Up to and including chassis numbers:

Adjust at the guide bracket located forward of the gear lever housing.
1. Remove the left-hand seat and fold back the carpet so that the ventilation air duct can be removed.
2. Engage 3rd gear.





3. Release the screws retaining the guide bracket to the gear lever housing.





4. Adjust the guide bracket so that the tensioning rollers bottom in the grove of the guide pad and release the tension spring to the shortest working length. Then secure the guide bracket.
5. Move the gear lever to the neutral position and check that the spring load returns the lever to the original position for 3rd and 4th gates.
6. Refit the ventilation air duct, the carpet and the left-hand seat.
