1. Start engine and allow to idle.
2. Disconnect hose to pressure switch at inlet manifold and connect test gauge 8392813, together with a suitable pump (coolant system pressure tester), to pressure switch hose, Fig. 6.
3. Increase pressure to switch using pump and note the pressure and gauge readings. At 9.5 ±0.7 psi (0.65 ±0.05 bar) the needle should be in the wide orange zone. At 5.0 ±0.04 psi (0.35 ±0.03 bar) the needle should be in front of the limit between the orange and red zones.
