Acceleration Enrichment Pulse Relay
SYSTEM FAILURE SYMPTOMS:
If the relay fails in the open position, the same hot start acceleration complaint noted in the previous test will occur.
TEST:
1. Plug in the acceleration enrichment pulse relay (D).
2. Remove the time and cold/hot start ground relays (CB-G)
3. Connect a jumper lead from pin 87 of the time relay (C-B) socket to ground.
4. Remove connector from the vacuum impulse switch. Connect a jumper lead from +12V to the brown wire in connector.
5. Connect a test light from +12V to pin 87 of the cold/hot start (G) relay socket.
6. The test light should begin to pulse rapidly on and off.
7. If inoperative check with the jumper leads in steps 3 and 4 removed.
At the pulse relay socket -
Terminal 15 +12V when rapidly accelerating the engine
Terminal 31 continuity with pin 87 of the time relay
Terminal 31b continuity with pin 87 on the cold/hot start relay.
