Early APC test harnesses (P/N 83-93-548) may not function correctly on 1983 Turbo APC Systems. The reason for this is the absence of a lead wire connecting pins #8 in both harness connectors.
The remedy is to solder a jumper between pin #6 and pin #8 in the test harness connector, thereby using the lead from pin #6 to carry the necessary signals.
1. Remove the connector cover.
2. Make up a short insulated jumper lead.
3. Solder the jumper to pin #6 and pin #8. Be sure there are no loose strands of wire or solder lumps to cause a short circuit.
NOTE: Use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the opposite end of the pin when soldering. This serves as a heat sink and with only a quick application of the soldering iron, will prevent loosening of the pin from the plastic board.
4. Fold the jumper into the other wires
5. Reinstall the connector cover.
