Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

ADJUSTMENTS

DOOR GLASS ADJUSTMENT

NOTE: Verify that the door is properly adjusted to the body prior to adjusting the door glass.

Refer to Door Glass Adjustment Sequence Chart for proper adjustments (Fig. 4).

FORE-AFT ADJUSTMENT

NOTE: Convertible top must be up and latched securely.

1. Lower glass to mid position in order to access the glass attach bolts.
2. Loosen rear glass attaching bolts.
3. Adjust glass fore-aft by sliding glass assembly forward or backward.

NOTE: Glass attach bolts will move in slots of rear window regulator lift plate.

4. Tighten rear glass attaching bolts.

UP-DOWN TILT OF GLASS

1. Loosen rear guide rail upper attaching nut and lower jack screw attaching nut.
2. Remove top seals
3. Tighten rear guide rail upper attach nut.
4. Align top edge of the glass to top seal
5. Tighten both jack screw nuts.
6. Replace top seals.

NOTE: Nut will be loosened for cross car glass adjustment.

CROSS-CAR ADJUSTMENT

1. Loosen front and rear lower jack screw nut.
2. Adjust jack screw with 3 mm allen wrench to move upper edge of glass inboard or outboard as needed.

NOTE: Counter clockwise for inboard adjust and clockwise for outboard adjust.

3. Tighten lower guide rail jack screw nuts.

FULL-UP POSITION ADJUSTMENT

1. Loosen up stop fastener.
2. Remove convertible top weatherstrip.
3. Adjust window to specifications in the Door Glass Adjustment Sequence Chart.
4. Tighten up stop fastener.
5. Replace convertible top weather seals.
6. Verify that the top edge of the door glass is beneath the lip of the weatherstrip with glass in the full up position.
