DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - STABILIZER BAR (FRONT)Inspect the stabilizer bar and it's bushings and bushing retainers for cracks, distortion, deterioration or damage. If stabilizer bar to frame rail bushing replacement is required, the bushings can be removed from stabilizer bar by opening the slit in bushing and peeling it off the stabilizer bar.
Inspect the stabilizer bar links for any of the conditions that are listed below. If any of these faulty conditions are found when inspecting the stabilizer bar links, the link will require replacement. Do not attempt to repair a stabilizer bar link.
- Inspect the links for any bending of the center section of the link.
- Inspect the link ball joint seal boots for holes, tears, cracks and any type of deterioration.
- Inspect the link ball joints for any visible end play or excessive looseness.
- Check the link ball joints for binding.
- Check the link mounting points at the stabilizer bar and rocker arm to verify the mounting nuts are tight. If required, tighten the nuts to the specified torque listed in Specifications.
