Air Bag Deactivation Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Open right passenger door.

3. Using a trim stick (special tool #C-4755) or equivalent, gently pry out on right instrument panel end cover.
4. Disconnect two posi-lock wire connectors to switch.
5. Remove end cover with switch.
6. Remove three mounting screws to switch.
7. Separate switch from end cover and remove.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the switch in the end cover.
2. Install the three attaching screws.
3. Connect the two posi-lock wire connectors to the switch.
4. Snap the end cover into place.
5. Close the passenger door.

WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. REFER TO ELECTRICAL, RESTRAINTS, DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - AIRBAG SYSTEM FIRST.
